In a market flooded by food ordering apps, Flamingo reinvents the classic interaction between restaurants and their clients, eliminating waiting times, tearing down language barriers, and reducing waste.
They are planning to improve customer experience and also reduce operational costs for HORECA businesses with the power of a mobile app that will allow people to choose what, where and when they want to eat, having their dishes ready and their invoice paid upon arriving at the restaurant.
Flamingo App was ready to launch its product but it was missing an essential element in order to enter a highly competitive market: branding. Balloonline was in charge to transform the product into a brand that will create a completely new restaurant-customer experience.
The brand needed to be attractive both to restaurants and their clients, so in order to have a complete customer acquisition funnel we used a website and a landing page for b2b advertisement and inquiries.
What makes you choose a restaurant over another when you like both of them? Is it food or is it your mood, friends, partner, or availability?
What makes you choose whether to go out for dinner or not? Is it food or is it the moment you want to celebrate, the lunch break you were looking forward to for hours or the new restaurant you have just discovered?
We think it’s always more than food, and based on that, using the right startup brand strategy, we started to build brand elements like naming, logo, visual styles, and much more.
Flamingo was not only the new kid on the block but also a totally different one. Our team worked to define the brand’s values, mission, and vision of a new brand that was willing to disrupt the HORECA flow as we know it, creating a more efficient, accessible, and collaborative method.
Balloonline worked closely with the Flamingo team to position the brand on the local market while acknowledging the soon to come expansion of the startup at a national level. We established a well-balanced brand archetype for a bold startup that is strongly focused on people’s needs.
One of the most fundamental elements we were in charge of was naming the business and designing the logo. After setting clear objectives, extensive research, and hours of brainstorming, we had the final combination of naming and logo. Blended with visual styles and typeface, they now work together to consolidating the brand.
To help convey the brand’s message and make the brand recognizable, our team designed the essential stationery elements that Flamingo will expose in all their partner-restaurants. Among them, there is a special one and every time clients walk in the restaurant and start to examine the tables, they will look straight into this “Reserved for those who choose not to wait for their food anymore” and that will create a sense of belonging among potential customers and in the same time will increase brand awareness and word of mouth marketing.
With the scope of generating more business, we designed a microsite focused on 2 key objectives – to generate more b2b leads and to perform as a medium of information for users who are looking for more information about Flamingo App before downloading the app.
Our team designed a dedicated landing page for restaurant owners and managers, and in order to increase the conversion rate we used a custom form for inquires that automatically changes its fields depending on a previously selected contact purpose.
The second landing page informs and educates the potential mobile app user about the benefits and uniqueness of Flamingo App, mapping the customer journey from a cold lead to an app download.
In November 2019, with the involvement of the first partner-restaurant, Flamingo Food App was officially launched on the Cluj-Napoca market, as a brand, and as a product. With clear objectives and a community of food lovers, this fresh startup is now ready to grow.
